Virgle D. Smith
Virgle D. Smith, 72, of Poteau, OK, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Poteau. He was born October 21, 1940, in Bokoshe, OK, to Clifford and Nellie (Real) Smith. Virgle loved to fish and hunt and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an electrician, plumber, coal miner and maintenance man for Wortz Cracker Company.
Virgle is preceded in death by his parents; a son Raymond Smith; two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife Connie Smith of the home; four sons, Stephen Smith of Washington, Shane Hayes and wife Samantha, Charles Smith and wife Aubrey and Randy Smith and wife DeAnna, all of Poteau; one brother and two sisters; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family friends and loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Fuel Church, Dewey Ave. Poteau, OK, with Pastor Shane Waldrop officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau. You may leave an on-line greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com
