William Henry Ray (aka Bill or Tune), of Spiro, Oklahoma peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was 84 years old. Mr. Ray was born September 15, 1934 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was the eldest son of Sherman and Belle Ray. The Ray family moved to California in 1946 where he eventually met and married Shirley Lambeth on October 16, 1954. They resided in Cuyama, California where they raised their family. He retired and moved to Spiro, Oklahoma in 1995 where he lived until his passing. He is survived by his wife Shirley, six children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and five sisters. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and valued friends from many walks of life.
Graveside services will be 11:00am Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, Oklahoma. Viewing will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 9am 1pm at Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma.
